Conceived by Jon Borland of e:merge and animated by Adam Syrop, Play Paws is an interactive DVD featuring a Geordie panda with a 'passion for ping-pong' named Paws. This celebrity obsessed panda introduces various word and picture games, including the animal/transport guessing game 'Ewe-Canoe', and a game in which the player has to guess which well-known chocolate bar is being shown from it's cross-section alone - 'Confectionary Cross-Sectionary'.
The DVD is aimed mainly at the youth group market to be used as 'ice-breakers' and is now being sold throughout the UK.
As the games on Play Paws cover a diverse range of subjects, the music has to do the same. The idyllic opening moments feature an eastern-oriented melody as Paws dines out - then suddenly Paws is torn away from his lunch and flies through the air to the extravagant game show music of the main theme.
Each game has it's own theme, reflecting its unique characteristics - from the electronic computer-like theme of 'Confectionary Cross-Sectionary' to the intentionally familiar-sounding 'Final Answer' tension music and the Muzak feel of 'Paws for Thought' and its Bossa Nova-type strains.
