- Macromedia Flash - authoring software for interactive web applications, enabling animated features and video controls on this site

- Macromedia Flash Video - up-and-coming video format developed for use with Macomedia Flash
- MP3 - the most popular audio compression format
The following projects/tools have enabled enhancement of this site:
- getID3() - used for dynamically getting information about audio & video files on the server
- SWFObject - dynamically rewrites sections in an XHTML document to enable Flash content (mainly used to solve Internet Explorer issues which have appeared recently due to changes implemented by Microsoft)
